Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and Superintendent of Schools Valeria Silva, along with other representatives of the City of Saint Paul, Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and U.S. Bank, will launch the Right Track Initiative, a youth summer hiring program, at a press briefing on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the lobby of U.S. Bank, located at 1000 Payne Ave. in Saint Paul.
During the press briefing, Mayor Coleman will issue a call to action for local businesses to hire high school youth this summer. Right Track is Saint Paul’s pipeline for youth career development and helps build a diverse future workforce. It brings together the City of Saint Paul, Saint Paul Public Schools, businesses and community-based organizations to provide work readiness and employment opportunities for youth.
“Business, government, schools and communities must come together in new ways to get young people on the right track to future careers. The strength of our local economy depends upon their success,” said Mayor Christopher B. Coleman.
“This is a great opportunity for youth and business people, and U.S. Bank is proud to join in this effort,” said Jennie Carlson, executive vice president of human resources at U.S. Bank. “Our employees that will be participating are excited to work with the young people and to help them learn about the business world. They also look forward to learning from the youth as well.”For more information about the Right Track Initiative visit:
