The Parks and Recreation Department is always looking for new talent to add to an already talented and award winning workforce.
Most internships with the Department are unpaid, but a number of past and current Parks and Recreation certifed full-time staff began as unpaid interns, and worked their way into paid positions.
If accepted into the program, interns will be placed according to education (minimum 1-year college education required), expertise and Department need. Types of work include administrative functions (accounting, marketing or general clerical), field work (park maintenance, rec. center programming or Como Park Zoo & Conservatory) and environmental work (clean-up, plantings...etc) - just to name a few.
