The City of Saint Paul Planning Commission appointed the Ford Site Planning Task Force in January 2007 to assist in identifying a plan to create a positive legacy for the City and the Ford Motor Company.

The Ford Site Planning Task Force includes 21 people who are representative of area residents, the local and regional business communities, the environmental community, labor, and Ford Land Co.  Those appointed have experience in housing, commercial and industrial markets, sustainable and environmental development practices, the Mississippi River corridor, and land use planning.

The charge to the Ford Site Planning Task Force is to prepare for consideration by the Planning Commission, City Council, and Mayor a development framework for the site that represents a fitting legacy for the Ford Motor Company and the City of Saint Paul.

As a result of Phases One and Two, the Task Force will forward a recommendation to the Planning Commission that includes the following: The Planning Commission will consider the recommendation, and forward it in whole, or amended, to the City Council and Mayor for consideration.  The City Council and Mayor will be the final decision makers on the above items.
