As a pet owner you know the friendship, loyalty, love, and fun that your pet adds to your life, but you also must realize your responsibility toward your neighbors.

Pet owners do not always hear the barking of their own dog, or accept the fact that their cat is defecating in the neighbor's child's sandbox. Put yourself in your neighbor's place to see how your pet's habits affect them.

If you keep a dog to protect your property, always remember you are responsible for the action of this dog. You must see to it that innocent people are not injured by your dog.

Be aware that a dog inside the house is a better deterrent than a dog chained outside.
