There are millions of puppies and kittens born every year in the United States. Thousands of them are cruelly abandoned. Think about what you would do with any puppies or kittens your female pet might produce.

Unless you plan to carefully and selectively breed your pet, you should have it spayed or neutered. This is a relatively safe operation and eliminates reproduction.

Spaying or neutering in no way lessens your responsibility to properly control your pets.
