Dog licenses are good for one year. They expire the last day of the month, one year from the month first issued. Renewal invoices are sent annually.

Lifetime licenses are good for the lifetime of the dog, as long as it is owned by the applicant while living in Saint Paul. Reminder letters (no payment due) are sent whenever the rabies vaccination is expiring and must be updated
