Rental Registration
Overview

So that one and two-unit rental properties are subject to inspection by the City, the Rental Registration Program requires all one and two-unit non-owner occupied residences to register with the City.

Once the property is registered, the owner receives a rental dwelling registration certificate, which is to be renewed annually.

Complaints about these units can result in the City writing orders due to violations of the rental registration agreement. Complaints can also result in rental registration being suspended.

To find out information about this program, call the DSI - Complaint Office (651) 266-8989 or visit the Rental Property Information and Inspections section of the website.
