In keeping with the Saint Paul Police Department’s (SPPD) working model of “Pride, Professional and Partnerships” we are proud to offer two transitional employment positions for future police candidates.
The positions of “Community Liaison Officer” (CLO) and “Parking Enforcement Officer” (PEO) offer you the opportunity to join a fast growing, diverse and talented department while working on your Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Degree.
You are hired on a full time basis for up to four years. After 2 years of employment and completion of your degree and skills, you are eligible for promotional rights when the next academy class is offered.
During your employment you must:
- Complete your degree in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice
- Pass the Police Officers Standards and Training (POST) skills course
- Become POST licensed eligible
- Take the SPPD test for Police Officer, when offered
Failure to finish your degree and POST skills program in the allotted time will result in termination of your employment with the SPPD.
