Overview
One of Saint Paul Parks & Recreation's primary goals is to promote active lifestyles and be the champion of health & wellness activities in Saint Paul. Below is a listing of upcoming events held in our Saint Paul Parks.

Saint Paul Getting Fit
The “Active Living” Fitness Membership was launched in May 2008. For only $25/year, adults (must live or work in the city of Saint  Paul) can use our recreation center fitness rooms and indoor walking tracks, and keep track of their progress using our web-  based “Saint Paul Getting Fit” Fitness Tracker. Non-residents can participate in the same program for $50/year. Contact a participating Recreation Center for more information.

Amicus Walk-a-Thon

Walk around Como Lake

Saturday, September 19th
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

 

Amicus, a local nonprofit organization working with offenders, ex-offenders and juveniles in the criminal justice system is taking a walk around Como Lake in support of those incarcerated, those trying to make a new start after serving a prison sentence and the friends and family members who love them. Nearly 1 in 100 Americans is currently behind bars. Join supporters who are walking around Como Lake in order to help those leaving prison walk a straighter path.

11th Annual Sharing Life Walk/Run Event
3 mile walk/run and FREE kid's fun run

Saturday, September 19th at 4:00 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon of fun! This walk/run event has something for everyone: 3 mile walk/run around beautiful Lake Phalen in St. Paul, live music, post-race treats, FREE kid's fun run, kid's game area, Home Depot kid's workshop, silent auction, raffle buckets, door prizes, long-sleeve t-shirts. This is a volunteer run event and all proceeds go to help families going through the transplant process and to educational programs that help raise public awareness about organ donation and transplantation.

5k Run/Walk for the prize

5k Run/Walk

September 19th at 10:00 a.m.  

Walk for the prize is a 5K (3.1 miles) challenging loop course around scenic Lake Phalen. Enjoy the fall foliage.
This is a USATF certified course, Proceeds benefit Saint Paul Parks and Recreation and the Central Africa Medical Mission

Out of the Darkness Community Walk
Casual 3 mile walk around Como Lake and Park

Sunday, September 27th
 
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. 
Walk begins at 10:30 a.m.

Net proceeds from the 2009 Out of the Darkness Community Walks will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to fund research, education, survivor and awareness programs -- both to prevent suicide and to assist those affected by suicide.

Heart & Sole Fun Run / Walk

5k Run and 2.5k Walk around Como Lake

Saturday, October 3rd at 9:00 a.m.

The Seventh Annual Heart & Sole Fun Run/Walk  will feature a beautiful 5K run and 2.5K walk around Lake Como. The event supports Camp Odayin, the only camp in the Midwest specifically for children with heart disease. Camp Odayin provides residential, day and family camping experiences where campers discover outdoor, athletic, and creative activities in a safe and medically supervised environment.
