At the Curb and Drop-off Center:

Recycle ONLY plastic bottles marked with a #1 or #2 on the bottom, like:
 all_plastics-rgb_72dpi_thumb.jpg soda and water bottles
milk jugs
shampoo and lotion bottles 
detergent and cleaner bottles

  • Rinse clean
  • Flatten your plastic bottles and place caps back on
            
These plastic items listed below are not recyclable at the curb:

No plastics marked with #3 - #7
No plastic containers, such as margarine or yogurt containers, even if they are marked with a #1 or #2
No plastic bottles used to dispose of needles!  (label and dispose of in the trash)
No toys
No plastic bags
No bottles that have contained hazardous materials, like motor oil, antifreeze or pesticides.  

#5 Plastics
#5 plastics can be taken to Whole Foods Stores
 
Plastic Bags
A variety of clean, dry, empty plastic bags can be recycled at the following metro area grocery stores:


  • Cub Foods
  • Lund's
  • Byerly's
  • Kowalski's

      • Bags are also accepted at Anoka County municipal drop-off recycling centers in Andover and Coon Rapids,  the Dakota County Recycling Zone in Eagan and Hennepin County Recycling Centers in Brooklyn Park and Bloomington.  Visit http://www.itsinthebagmn.org/  for a complete list of drop-off locations.  

        Do Recycle

        • Note:  All material must be clean and dry
        • Plastic grocery bags
        • Plastic retail bags with string ties and rigid plastic handles removed
        • Plastic newspaper bags
        • Plastic dry cleaning bags
        • Plastic produce bags and bread bags with ALL food residue removed
        • Plastic wrap from paper products (paper towels, etc.)
        • Plastic salt bags with rigid plastic handles removed
        • Plastic stretch/shrink wrap (Saran, Cling Wrap, etc.)
        •  


            • Don't Recycle
              • Plastic bags with strings or rigid plastic handles
              • Plastic bags with food residue
              • Plastic soil or mulch bags
              • Plastic zipper type bags
              • Plastic bubble wrap
              • Plastic bottles
              • Plastic food containers
              • Wet plastic bags of any kind

                Plastic plant pots can be returned for reuse and recycling at the following locations near and around Saint Paul
