The Youth Job Corps is funded with money from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) with the State of Minnesota and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds provided through the City of Saint Paul, which it receives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Due to the nature of these grants; applicants must meet eligibility requirements. Eligibility requirements are as follows.
1) All applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 24.
2) All applicants must be Saint Paul city residents.
3) All applicants must meet economically disadvantaged or at-risk guidelines. Total family household incomes must be at or below 80% of the metro area median income as defined by HUD.
YJC applicants must meet all of the eligibility requirements to be eligible for employment. All YJC applicants are required to attend their scheduled orientation and verify their eligibility for the program. This may include documentation of total household income, age, residency, household income, household size, and disability status.
Youth who are unable to provide the required documentation at orientation will be ineligible for summer employment with the Youth Job Corps.
Please remember that applying to the Youth Job Corps does not guarantee you employment.
