Overview

The City Labor Standards Unit of the Contract Compliance Division
monitors prevailing wage requirements on City-funded construction projects. (The City Labor Standards Unit also monitors some projects with State funding.)

The City Labor Standards Unit services include:

  • Monitoring prevailing wages on City-funded construction projects
  • Prevailing wage complaint processing and tracking
  • Contractor and union training on prevailing wage laws
  • Public Data Requests related to City Labor Standards


Prevailing Wages

Pursuant to Section 82.01 and Section 185.05 of the St. Paul Legislative Code, Section 5200 of the Minnesota Rules, and Minnesota Statutes Section 175.171, the City of Saint Paul has the authority to monitor contractor’s compliance with local prevailing wage laws on City-funded construction projects.  View Prevailing Wage Requirements.
