Planting and Dedication
Como Park, Saint Paul, Minnesota
Saturday, June 9, 2012
9:30 a.m.

In celebration
of the 100th Anniversary of the gifting of cherry trees to our Nation’s Capitol, Washington, D.C., by the Country of Japan.

It is an honor to be among the 20 cities in the United States that will be gifted 20 cherry trees.

Cherry Blossoms are the symbol of friendship.
The City of Saint Paul, along with the Japan America Society
of Minnesota and Saint Paul Nagasaki Sister City Committee,
are honored to accept this commemorative gift of  cherry trees
and plant them in Saint Paul’s historic Como Park. Just as the famous cherry blossom festival in Washington D.C. is celebrated, so too will these cherry blossoms announce the coming of spring and serve as a living testimony of friendship between our two countries.
