Mayor Chris Coleman today announced the appointment of J.D. Burton as the second member of the City of Saint Paul’s government relations team.
Burton, currently a senior attorney at Flaherty & Hood, previously worked as a legislative assistant for Congresswoman Betty McCollum and as a financial law clerk for the City of Minneapolis.
“J.D.’s experience makes him a unique fit for this important position,” Mayor Chris Coleman said. “J.D. has 12 years of experience of creative problem-solving on behalf of local governments. I look forward to adding his talent to our staff.”
"Serving our capital city and working for Mayor Coleman and his team is an exciting and humbling opportunity. I look forward to working with our strong Saint Paul legislative delegation, the City Council, business community and others to ensure Saint Paul remains a great place to live, work and raise a family."
Burton will begin his position on October 3.
