FO.R.C.E. is an acronym for "Focusing Our Resources on Community Empowerment," and the unit employs several strategies to fight crime. The F.O.R.C.E. Unit was established in September of 1992 to fight crime in the City.

One strategy is our crime prevention initiative. We work with neighborhood groups, and the district councils to respond to neighborhood and business crime issues.

Another strategy is to target problem properties and street level narcotic activities.
 
Our third strategy represents a collaborative effort with Code Enforcement. If necessary, we are able to close, condemn, or vacate neighborhood homes that need to be repaired and brought up to code.
