Project Updates
The Martin Luther King Play Area project is required to be approved through the City’s Site Plan Review process, which will occur in the beginning of April. The project will go out to bid at the end of April.
 
Construction is now anticipated to begin Summer 2015 with completion in Fall 2015.

Project Overview
The City of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation has secured CIB funding to renovate the existing play area at Martin Luther King Recreation Center. Improvements include:
  • Equipment which meets CPSC and ADA guidelines
  • Synthetic resilient surfacing for both accessibility and safety.
  • Walkways
  • Benches
  • Landscaping

(Modern play equipment style determined by community input at Rondo Days Festival, MLK Family Fun Day, community meetings, public survey and facebook postings. Final Equipment vendor and layout could possibly change based upon cost estimate)
