Police Employee Receiving Threat:

Upon direct receipt of a bomb threat, the employee will note the following:

  • How threat was received.
  • Time.
  • Location of threatened property.
  • Exact location where bomb was placed.
  • Time the bomb is supposed to detonate.
  • Why was it placed at the location
  • What kind of device -- description.
  • Approximate age of caller.
  • Sex of caller.
  • Background noises (voices, music, traffic).

If someone other than a Ramsey County Emergency Communication Center (RCECC) operator receives the threat, the employee will immediately contact the RCECC and ask for a call to be entered.

Upon indirect receipt of a bomb threat, e.g., from complainant who has received the direct threat, procedures shall be as follows:

  1. Secure the name and address of complainant.
  2. The name of the person reporting the incident.
  3. The name and location of a responsible person to be contacted by officers upon their arrival.
