Section 3 Job Training and Employment Opportunities

The Section 3 program requires that recipients of HUD financial assistance, to the greatest extent feasible, provide job training and employment services for low- or very-low income residents in connection with Section 3 projects and activities.  Section 3 is primarily affiliated with building projects, housing, and construction, therefore many of the jobs and training opportunities are in the “building trades.”  This includes positions such as carpenters, masons, electricians, roofers, pipe fitters, and laborers.  Many of these jobs are unionized and are in great demand, therefore have very high wages.
