Construction has begun at Hamm Park and should continue into October 2018. Please use caution in the area while construction proceeds.

A small triangular park at 743 Seventh Street East, Hamm Park offers a small seating area set back from the busy street. The larger Swede Hollow Park and Bruce Vento Regional Bike Trail are a block away. The park was given to the city in the early twentieth century by William Hamm, a park commissioner, who donated the land in memory of his father and namesake of the nearby brewery, Theodore Hamm.

These improvements are funded by the city's Commercial Vitality Zone funding, and a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation - Invest Health Grant.

Work at this park is further supported by the local non-profit Urban Roots, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Urban Wildlife Conservation Program, and Soil & Water Conservation division.

The scope of work for the project includes a new seating / gathering area, additional paths, signage, an additional trash receptacle, and pollinator-friendly planted areas. If you wish to provide feedback on Hamm Park, please contact the staff listed at right.

Construction is anticipated to begin in September and end in mid-October 2018. Please check this page for updates.
