Roaming Rec Program

Roaming Rec is a free summer youth program offering outdoor games, arts and crafts, and other recreation activities at parks and other locations around Saint Paul. Snacks will be served at each session.

About Hampden Park

Hampden Park was redesigned in 2016. The park features a plaza, picnic area, gardens, bike repair station, solar charging station, and a public art piece titled 'Divan' by Zoran Mojsilov.

Irvine Park

Irvine Park, our most popular outdoor wedding ceremony location, is nestled in a quiet, shady, residential neighborhood in a historic district just west of downtown Saint Paul. Park features include a gazebo with electrical outlets that holds approximately 10 people, and an ornate fountain that serves as the park's centerpiece. Note: The possession or consumption of alcohol is prohibited in this park.

Hamm Memorial Plaza

Hamm Memorial Plaza is the tip of the arrowhead-shaped formation of historic buildings and landmarks in downtown Saint Paul that includes the Saint Paul Public Library, the James J. Hill Center, Rice Park, and the Landmark Center.

Overview

Lyton Park contains two of Saint Paul's more whimsical sculptures: Girl on Dolphin and Boy on Turtle. The sculptures add to the park's unique atmosphere created by its location — at an intersection — and its decorative fencing.

Highwood Preserve

Overview

One of many passive parks just east of Pigs Eye Lake, Highwood Preserve occupies 14 acres of open and wooded space. The park is perfect for those looking for a natural escape with views over the nearby backwater lake and downtown Saint Paul skyline. For a place to play and sit, visitors will find Taylor Park, bordering Highwood Preserve to the north, a suitable location.

 

Hamm Park

Overview

Hamm Park displays well-groomed and colorful flowers, trees, and bushes throughout the year and sits kitty corner from Swede Hollow Park. Visitors will find trails connecting the two locations.

The award-winning Harriet Island Regional Park is one of Saint Paul's—and the Twin Cities'—most popular parks. Located alongside the Mississippi River near downtown Saint Paul, the 'island' boasts many amenities, including the Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion, a 5,000 square foot facility that hosts receptions, parties, weddings, and more throughout the year.
