City of Saint Paul announces advisory committee to inform Pedro Park design
Members will advise on major design elements, project themes for Pedro Park

SAINT PAUL – The City of Saint Paul today announced the creation of the Pedro Park Design Advisory Committee (DAC) to help guide the design process for the future Pedro Park. The committee will represent the broader interests of the community and provide input to city staff as they develop a design for the 0.45 acre park located in Saint Paul’s downtown area at 10th Street E. and Robert Street.

In November 2017, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) granted tentative developer status to the Ackerberg Group for the Public Safety Annex building, adjacent to the park. The HRA also directed the Department of Parks and Recreation to develop a suitable design of the park space through a public process during the tentative developer period.

The committee is made up of members from adjacent residences, businesses, and property owners, and will begin work at their initial meeting tomorrow, May 3, 2018. The committee will meet two times thereafter to provide input for a conceptual design for the site donated for park use by the Pedro family.

There will not be a public comment opportunity at these meetings, however those that wish to provide feedback on the Pedro Park design can do so by taking a community input survey. A link to the survey will be provided at www.stpaul.gov/pedropark after initial feedback from the committee has been gathered.
