Mayor Coleman appoints Joe Campbell as Communications Director
SAINT PAUL—Mayor Chris Coleman announced today that he has appointed Joe Campbell as his new Communications Director. Campbell will fill the position previously held by Richard Carlbom, who was appointed Campaign Manager for Minnesotans United for All Families in September. Campbell previously served as a staffer in Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s Minneapolis office. He will assume his duties as Communications Director on Monday, November 28. “With years of experience serving at a high level of government, Joe will be a critical part of my administration,” Mayor Chris Coleman said. “Saint Paul is going through a period of growth--including Central Corridor construction, downtown development and high-profile education initiatives--and Joe will be an asset to the city during these exciting times.” “Mayor Coleman is an innovative and visionary leader, and it is a privilege to be part of his administration. He has a deep dedication to the people of Saint Paul, and I look forward to assisting him in keeping the city strong and prosperous,” Joe Campbell said. "Joe is an excellent choice for Mayor Coleman. He's done a great job for us, and I know he will do a great job for Saint Paul," Sen. Amy Klobuchar said. Campbell brings with him a wealth of government and constituent experience. Campbell worked for Senator Klobuchar for five years. He held two positions in her office - Constituent Services Advocate and, most recently, Outreach Director. Campbell grew up in West Saint Paul and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota in 2005.
