Growing Strong Partnerships

From our larger partners such as the Saint Paul Public Schools, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the Family Housing Fund or the Greater Twin Cities United Way to smaller neighborhood-based partners like the Rice Street Action Team or First Lutheran Church in Dayton’s Bluff, amazing work is being done in alignment with the City’s efforts in ISP areas. Expanding and strengthening these partnerships is key to achieving lasting change.Spotlight:Smiles Across Minnesota - In partnership with the Smiles Across Minnesota coalition, the Invest Saint Paul Dental initiative provides access to sealants and other preventive care for all Saint Paul school children who are uninsured and low-income. Dental decay is the most prevalent chronic childhood illness affecting children in Minnesota and across the nation. Through this partnership, Children’s Dental Services has a permanent clinic in elementary schools in all four Invest Saint Paul areas. What is truly innovative about this initiative is that we are bringing care out to kids in the neighborhoods. During the summer of 2007, we served 350 kids in libraries and community centers, and we are on-target to serve 3000 Saint Paul kids within the first year.
