Welcome to Upportornia! As a recent arrival here, you've got a lot to discover about your new home. Although you may not yet speak the language, you'll find most people here are friendly and helpful. Please take the evening to get familiarize yourself to the local customs, fill out the necessary paperwork, maybe even find a new job, and you'll be on your way to becoming a true Upportornian! 

Bedlam Lowertown, in collaboration with Dangerous Productions and Live Action Set, presents the 4th annual BIG LOWDOWN! This roving, interactive adventure puts audiences in the shoes of newly arriving Immigrants to the fictional land of Upportornia. Based on real-life stories, created by and performed with a team of Immigrant-artists, this one-of-a-kind performance will celebrate the resilience of Immigrants and Refugees who have found a new home in Minnesota.

This funny, poetic, bizarre, and family-friendly interactive performance will roam through the nooks and crannies of Bedlam and the Lowertown neighborhood. Each evening ends with a celebration, featuring dancing and music with some of the Twin Cities hottest cultural performance groups.

The Big Lowdown 2016 is a collaboration between Live Action Set, Dangerous Productions, and Bedlam Theatre, financed in part by the Neighborhood Sales Tax Revitalization Program, and made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
