Accountant II

Performs intermediate level professional accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and preparation of financial reports and statements; and performs related duties as required. The focus of this position will be on capital projects (reporting, capitalizing, disposing, etc.) as well as monthly reporting of various internal cost allocations and journal entries (fuel, equipment, warehouse materials, etc.) for a regional water utility. The role also plays an integral part for capturing costs and maintaining several internal rate structures such as equipment data, as well as reviewing and uploading p card charges. This position is in the Accounting section of Saint Paul Regional Water Services, located at 1900 Rice Street.


 

Distribution Division Manager

Saint Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS) is looking to hire a Distribution Division Manager to provide leadership for a team of 108 employees in a fast-paced and professionally rewarding environment. SPRWS provides drinking water and related services to the City of Saint Paul in addition to several surrounding suburban communities including Maplewood, West Saint Paul, Lauderdale, Falcon Heights, Mendota, and Mendota Heights. Water is also provided on a wholesale basis to the cities of Roseville, Arden Hills, and Little Canada. The utility provides water to 450,000 customers. 

SPRWS consists of about 260 employees dedicated to providing quality water to customers at a reasonable cost. Water is distributed to our customers through a system that includes 1,200 miles of water mains, 94,000 service connections, 26,000 valves, and 10,000 hydrants, along with 10 pumping stations and 17 storage facilities. SPRWS consists of four divisions, each led by a division manager. These divisions include Production (supply and treatment), Distribution, Business, and Engineering. 

The Distribution Division Manager is responsible for system planning, budget administration, and up to ten field crews for operation, maintenance, and construction of water distribution infrastructure. The Distribution Division Manager is also responsible for leading a 24/7 dispatch center and a large warehouse supplying parts and materials for construction activities.

Civil Engineer II

We are hiring a Civil Engineer II to join our project engineering team at St. Paul Regional Water Services (SPRWS). Candidates hired now will be involved in multiple exciting capital improvement projects upgrading infrastructure critical to the supply, treatment, and distribution of drinking water. Major initiatives include implementation of a 10-year lead service line replacement program and a $12M annual water main replacement and rehabilitation program. Other projects include pump station electrical improvements, supply conduit rehabilitation, elevated tank rehabilitation and water treatment process improvements. SPRWS is seeking up to two entry level civil engineers to join our team of professional engineers in advancing these important initiatives. SPRWS is seeking qualified individuals to play important roles in moving these initiatives forward.
