Returning to your home after a disaster will be both physically and mentally challenging. The most important thing to remember is be safe and use caution.
Before the disaster, your home was a welcoming and safe haven. After a disaster, it may be anything but safe: downed power lines can block your entrance, your home's foundation may be questionable, mold and air borne particles may be present, especially after a flood.
But there are things you can do to make your home "home sweet home" again.
