[ACTIVE] Nominate a beautiful garden for a 2014 Blooming Saint Paul Award

Blooming Saint Paul 2014

Nominations accepted through June 27, 2014

The Saint Paul Department of Parks and Recreation, Saint Paul Garden Club and the Ramsey County Master Gardeners are now accepting nominations for the 2014 Blooming Saint Paul Awards. The Blooming Saint Paul Awards recognize beautiful gardens located within Saint Paul city limits. The awards encourage and celebrate gardening and beautification efforts by Saint Paul residents and businesses.

In 2013, there were more than 182 nominations. In 2014, garden nominations can be made in the following six categories:

Business/Institutional Award - for beautifying a store front, plaza, grounds or outdoor seating in an
exemplary manner.

Kern Landscaping Residential Garden Award - for residential property with exemplary landscaping and gardens.

CRWD Clean Water Award - for an exemplary landscaping project or practice that demonstrates
stormwater runoff reduction, pollution prevention or water reuse.

Egg|Plant Edible Landscaping Award - for an exemplary residential or community site incorporating edible plants into the landscaping (50% or more of plants edible/herbal).

Garden Steward Volunteer Award - for exemplary volunteer group or individual enrolled in the Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Garden Steward program.

Nominations are judged by the Ramsey County Master Gardeners. Winners are announced at the Blooming Saint Paul Awards Ceremony on Monday, January 26, 2015.

New Award Category for 2014: Blooming Saint Paul Public Art Award
Nominate your favorite public art piece in Saint Paul. It can be a new piece you just discovered or an old piece that you’ve loved for a long time. Any art located within the public realm (viewable from street, sidewalk or public property) may be nominated. In August, everyone will be able to vote online as to which nominated art should receive an award of recognition.

The Blooming Saint Paul Awards are made possible by the generous support of the Saint Paul Pioneer Press. Other sponsors include: the Capital Region Watershed District, Egg|Plant Urban Farm Store, and Kern Landscaping.

All nominations must be received by June 27, 2014.
