Group Reservations
Saint Paul Parks and Recreation will begin taking requests for group reservations at Como Regional Park Pool and Highland Park Aquatic Center on June 4, 2024. Please review the following guidelines for group reservations:
- Advance group reservations will only be accepted if the requested reservation meets facility capacity projections for the requested date(s).
- Reservations requests will only be accepted a maximum of one week in advance.
- Payment must be made in full at the time of arrival. Note: no refunds will be issued unless it is the result of a weather or facility related closure.
These updated policies are in response to record demand and usage of our aquatic facilities, balancing the equitable usage of public infrastructure, and ensuring that payment for services is collected.
To request a group reservation, please call Como at 651-489-0378 or Highland at 651-695-3773, and ask to speak with an aquatic supervisor.
Group Reservation Requirements and Expectations
Groups must check-in with aquatic’s leadership at arrival for a water safety overview.
At arrival, all visiting groups check-in and attend a Water Safety Orientation including an overview of the facility and rules/regulations.
Developmental Levels | Child /Staff Ratio |
---|
Infants | 1:1 |
Toddlers | 1:1 |
Preschoolers | 4:1 |
School-age Children | 6:1 |
Constant and active supervision should be maintained when any child is in or around water. During any swimming/wading/water play activities where either an infant or a toddler is present, the ratio should always be one adult to one infant/toddler. The required ratio of staff to older children should be met without including the staff who are required for supervision of infants and/or toddlers. Whenever children thirteen months and up to five years of age are in or around water, the supervising staff should be within an arm’s length providing “touch supervision”. The attention of staff supervising children of any age should be focused on the child, and the staff should never be engaged in other distracting activities, such as talking on the telephone, listening to music, or reading.
