Department of Parks and Recreation has received feedback regarding Como Lakeside Pavilion in advance of the public hearing being held on Como Regional Park Long Range Plan on Thursday, May 9th.  To clarify, Como Lakeside Pavilion is mentioned on page 13 of the Como Long Range Plan in reference to the vision work done in 2023. The visioning exercise was high-level and starts to imagine what Como Lakeside Pavilion could be in the future.  This work happened concurrently with the development of the Como Regional Park Long-Range Plan and developed the following design goals for the pavilion:

• Renovate and relocate bathrooms for accessibility.

• Maximize all space for public use.

• Add vendors and services for year-round use.

• Appropriately size spaces to meet community needs.

• Maintain the historic quality of this landmark building and upgrade overall aesthetics.

• Promote community events and connection to Como Lake.

• Direct amplified sound toward natural sound breaks.

No decisions regarding the Lakeside Pavilion are stated in the Como Regional Park Long Range Plan. Community engagement specific to the pavilion will occur at a later date.
