Solid Waste Hauler License
Overview
Vehicle engaged in the hauling of putrescible and nonputrescible solid waste, except body wastes, and includes garbage and rubbish.
Any container placed on public property requires a Use of Street permit, issued by the Public Works department.

See Chapter 357 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code for information about solid waste haulers.
Application Requirements
You must submit the following:
- A completed Class R City License Application
- General Liability Insurance with $100,000 bodily injury per person, $300,000 bodily injury per accident, and $50,000 property damage per accident
- Automobile Liability Insurance with $100,000 bodily injury per person, $300,000 bodily injury per accident, and $50,000 property damage per accident. Must have 30 day notice of cancellation. (Note: The VIN and state plate number of vehicle to be licensed on insurance certificate.)
- A schedule of charges
- Approved truck inspection conducted by the Public Works department at 873 Dale Street N. For appointments, please call 651-266-9116
- The required fee
Inspections
This license requires inspection approvals from the Ramsey County Department of Public Health (Ph: (651) 266-2400), Licensing (Ph: (651) 266-8989), and Zoning (Ph: (651) 266-9008).

Expiration/Renewal
A Solid Waste Hauler License will expire one year from date of application or upon epiration of general and auto liability insurance. This license is renewed annually.
