Project Engineer: Tom Jauquet 651-266-6271
The original cast iron water main within the project area was installed in 1890 and has experienced repeated main breaks over the years. To continue to ensure the reliability of our system, SPRWS regularly replaces aging infrastructure that may be susceptible to breaking with newer, more dependable infrastructure.
SPRWS will be replacing the existing 6" cast iron water main with 6" ductile iron pipe. A contractor will be hired to provide excavation and restoration of the roadway for the project.
- SPRWS to replace approximately 1,300 feet of 6" water main with new, 6" main
- SPRWS to replace valves and hydrants
- Contractor to excavate and restore street pavement, curb, and sidewalk as needed
Project start dates TBD. Xcel gas to perform work in the area ahead of SPRWS.
Xcel is tentatively planning to start work in the first half of July. Further updates to come.
