Safe and Sustainable Transportation Plans
As part of the development of the new soccer stadium, a Transportation Management Plan (TMP) has been developed by the City of Saint Paul to help safely move 20,000 people to and from the stadium on game days, and to ensure a positive experience for both fans and those who live, work, and operate businesses in the area. As prioritized by community input and our vision for our city, the TMP prioritizes safe and sustainable transportation options including the Green Line Light Rail Train, the A-Line Bus Rapid Transit line, additional buses, bikes, walking, and rolling for fans traveling to the new soccer stadium.

What do you think of the new transportation plan to prioritize safe and sustainable travel around the new soccer stadium? What has your experience been with transportation around the new stadium?
Great New Greenspace
As part of the new Allianz Field development, Minnesota United have built a new park that covers 28,000 square feet of new public space to bring neighbors together in our community. The “Great Lawn,” which sits on the north side of the stadium, facing University Avenue, includes more than 20,500 square feet of grass as a new publicly-accessible park for neighbors to enjoy year-round.
Landmark Clean Water Infrastructure
At the Allianz Field stadium site, the City of Saint Paul has made a bold commitment to sustainability and green infrastructure that will support the long-term health of our community and environment. Key to that effort is the landmark clean water infrastructure system at the Midway Development District, which will recycle more than 2 million gallons of rainwater every year. This unique system, the largest and smartest of its kind, will be used to irrigate trees and grass across the site, and to serve future developments around the stadium.

Constructing Community at Allianz Field
The construction of Allianz Field was privately funded, without public subsidies. The City of Saint Paul has made investments around the stadium site to upgrade pedestrian facilities, roads, stormwater systems, and other public facilities on the soccer stadium development site. Public investments have helped drive local job creation around the stadium, including requirements that prioritized diverse and local hiring for construction.
Community Vision for the Future of Snelling-Midway
In addition to Allianz Field, the City of Saint Paul has worked with property owners, developers, and the community, to develop a plan for an urban village around the stadium which includes retail, office, residential, and public open spaces. The Midway Development District plan covers the full 34.5-acre site, with the expectation that future projects under this plan will take place in phases over time.
