West 7th Temporary Pedestrian Improvements
We are testing pedestrian improvements on West 7th Street. With input from the community, 3 pedestrian crossing locations have been selected for temporary improvements:
- Goodrich Avenue: bumpout on southeast corner
- Armstrong Avenue & Bay Street: center pedestrian island on the east side of the intersection
- Perlman Street: center pedestrian island on the west side of the intersection
We are not expecting significant disruption due to these temporary pedestrian improvements. The center pedestrian island at Armstrong Avenue & Bay Street will prevent some turning movements of vehicles.
The temporary improvements, consisting of flexible delineators, will be installed in June 2018. We will remove elements that cannot stay up during the snow season in November 2018. There currently is not funding allocated to make these temporary improvements permanent.
These are test installations and your feedback will help inform future design of the West 7th Street corridor. If you have traveled through any of the test locations, please share your impressions in a 3-minute survey.
The survey is now closed.
