SAINT PAUL—Today, the City of Saint Paul temporarily renamed W 7th Street as “W 97th Street” honoring Kirill Kaprizov’s jersey number and his eight-year commitment to the Minnesota Wild. The sign is affixed on the traffic signal at the intersection of Kellogg Boulevard and W 7th Street/Eagle Street.

“Kaprizov didn’t just sign a record-breaking deal, he chose Saint Paul, he chose Minnesota,” said Mayor Carter. “We’re excited for the upcoming hockey season and to build momentum with the Wild and Grand Casino Arena, solidifying Saint Paul as the capital city of hockey.”

The Wild conclude its preseason on October 3 and will begin the regular season on the road, with the first home game at the newly renamed Grand Casino Arena on October 11.

Fans interested in taking photos of the temporary street sign must comply with all safety measures and traffic laws.
