Just after 3:30 p.m., a 911 caller reported that a person was shot on the 500 block of Stryker Avenue. When Officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the torso. Officers secured the scene and rendered aid. Saint Paul Fire medics were called by responding officers, who transported the victim to Regions Hospital. The victim died of his injuries at the hospital.
Investigators with the police department's homicide unit are currently working to determine what led to the assault and who is responsible for the death. In addition, members of the video management unit are looking for any surveillance video that could help determine what happened. Anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
This is the 3rd homicide of 2023 in Saint Paul.
