Earlier this evening, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Saint Paul Police officers were dispatched to a shooting call near the intersection of Thomas and Grotto Street. When officers arrived, an adult male was found with apparent gunshot wounds. Saint Paul Fire medics immediately transported the victim to the hospital, where doctors attempted to save his life but were not successful.
No arrests have been made at this time and details surrounding the incident are under investigation by the Saint Paul Police Homicide Unit, Forensic Services Unit, and Video Management Unit.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine the exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
