Saint Paul police are looking for the person responsible for shooting and killing a man in the early morning hours Friday, May 29.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Lexington Parkway South just after midnight on a report of a person in distress. When they arrived, officers found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

St. Paul Fire medics responded to the scene and rushed the victim to Regions Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

After the victim was taken away by ambulance, officers secured the scene and began identifying possible witnesses. Investigators from the department’s Homicide Unit and Forensics Services Unit also responded to look for evidence and anything that could lead them to the person responsible for the man’s death.

No arrests have been made, and anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine his exact cause of death. That information, along with any updates in the cases, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.

This is the 14th homicide in Saint Paul this year.
