SAINT PAUL, MN (May 25, 2023) – The City of Saint Paulin coordination with Ramsey County, will reopen Shepard Road/Warner Road to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic on Friday, May 26 by 6 p.m.

In conjunction with the reopening of Shepard Road/Warner Road, Sibley and Jackson Streets will also reopen from Shepard Road to Kellogg Boulevard to vehicle traffic.

Shepard Road/Warner Road was closed on April 16 due to anticipated spring flooding. According to the National Weather Service, the Mississippi River water levels in Saint Paul crested at 18.24 feet on April 27, flooding a portion of Shepard Road.

Earlier this month, the City and County had to delay an announced reopening of the roadway due to heavy rainfall in southern Minnesota which caused the river levels to quickly rise. On May 21, the Mississippi River crested a second time in Saint Paul at 14.9 feet, which was just short of the moderate flood level of 15 feet. River levels continue to decline and are currently below minor flood stage levels.

Water Street, located along the south side of the Mississippi River, along with several park areas and facilities, will remain closed until the required inspection, testing, and clean up has been completed. Before going to any Saint Paul Parks, please check for updated facility, trail, and park closures on the website at www.stpaul.gov/flood/.
