Saint Paul homicide investigators are searching for the person or people responsible for a deadly shooting that occurred in the early evening on the city’s East Side.

At about 6:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Pacific Street for a report of a man shot. When they arrived at the residence, they found a man inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers secured the scene, attempted to render aid and called for St. Paul Fire medics.

St. Paul Fire medics arrived, and unfortunately the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Now, investigators with the police department’s Homicide Unit are working to locate any possible witnesses and determine who pulled the trigger. Members of the Forensics Services Unit will process the area for evidence, and officers are canvassing the area for any available video surveillance.

As of Tuesday evening, no arrests have been made.

This is the 13th homicide this year in Saint Paul.
