At 11:15 a.m., a 911 caller reported that a person was shot on the 2200 block of Hillsdale Avenue. When officers arrived, they found an adult female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers secured the scene and called for Saint Paul Fire medics. The victim was declared dead on scene.

Homicide investigators are working to determine what led to this incident, but preliminary information leads them to believe this is domestic related. The forensic services unit will be processing the scene for evidence. Anyone with information related to this homicide is asked to call 651-266-5650.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine her exact cause of death. This information, along with any updates on the case, will be released on the Saint Paul Police Department Twitter account, @sppdmn.
