Station 3

Engine House 3 History

Remodeled and opened in December 2025, this is our newest fire station. 15 years ago, this station closed its doors as an active fire station. Since then, it has been home to the EMS Academy and our BLS Division. Most recently it served as a shelter for our unsheltered neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now after a full remodel, this state-of-the-art facility represents our commitment to health, safety, and responsive service to our community.

CARES

Community Alternative Response Emergency Servies (CARES)

An alternative emergency response to mental health crises and behavioral emergencies, CARES is a two-person response team comprised of Saint Paul Fire Department Emergency Medical Technicians.

Our CARES Team responds to non-violent mental health crises and behavioral emergencies within Saint Paul. Teams interact with some of our most vulnerable residents who are unsheltered, sheltered, and at local service providers, following up with them after a crisis in an effort to connect them with the services they may need.
