City of Saint Paul Finalizes 2026 Budget Through Strong Partnership and Shared Priorities

The 2026 budget totals approximately $883 million, with a General Fund of $404.9 million. It proposes a 5.3% increase toward a $232.5 million property tax levy—about $107 a year, or $9 a month, on a median-value home.

The City of Saint Paul is coordinating closely with our emergency services and CommonBond Communities to conduct an emergency evacuation at 1247 Saint Anthony Avenue following a fire Sunday in the early morning hours. The fire was contained quickly without any injuries. However, as a result, a failure of an electricity system triggered sprinklers on three floors and caused a complete power outage.
