VISTA Cohort Open Positions 

The City of Saint Paul VISTA Cohort provides an opportunity to join us for a year of service in our community. Program benefits include health coverage, training, choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend, childcare assistance for eligible workers, a relocation allowance, stipend, and living allowance.

CollegeBound VISTA  

This position serves with The Office of Financial Empowerment in the Saint Paul Mayor’s Office. 

Member duties include: 

  • Develop a social media plan for year four of the program to build awareness of program and engagement with program by participants.

  • Design and implement a family engagement plan in collaboration with program referral and enrollment partners.

  • Expand and strengthen partnerships with early childhood service providers as well as financial health service providers.

  • Coordinate planning process to develop and implement a CollegeBound Financial Health Action Plan

  • Support the implementation of financial health pilots for CollegeBound families, including enrolling families in the City’s guaranteed income program Develop and coordinate strategies to inform families of child care options & resources 

  • Help design a community assessment on the needs for child care at nonstandard hours

CollegeBound Child Wellness VISTA  

This position serves with The Office of Financial Empowerment in the Saint Paul Mayor’s Office.  

Member duties include:  

  • Coordinate pilot to incentivize WIC 1-year recertification for CollegeBound children  
  • Coordinate pilot to incentivize well-child visits with pediatrician or health clinics for CollegeBound children  
  • Develop plan to increase access to mobile health care for infants and toddlers in Saint Paul  
  • Facilitate the delivery of messaging about preventative care for infants and toddlers to CollegeBound families through trusted messengers

The Free Book Buggie VISTA  

This position serves with our partner organization The Free Book Buggie. To learn more about this organization please visit their website (thefreebookbuggie.org).  

Member duties include:  

  • Analyze the organization’s online document storage system on Google Drive 
  • Implement an updated email inbox system 
  • Research and compile data for the website and share with UX/UI staff to update  
  • Develop a donor tracking system 
  • Create a template and the processes for a newsletter  
  • Identify resources for fundraising and implement a tracking system 
  • Develop a fundraising plan to support the addition of paid staff on an ongoing basis and research  
  • Create tracking document for community outreach/flow chart to enhance current database 
  • Research best practice in community outreach and engagement and craft recommendations for new programs to reach more children
