Central Corridor Development Strategy

Two task forces, the University Avenue Central Corridor Task Force and the Capitol / Downtown Central Corridor Task Force were appointed by the Planning Commission to develop the Central Corridor Development Strategy.

  • The University Avenue Central Corridor Task Force developed the recommendations for the Central Corridor along University Avenue.
  • The Capitol / Downtown Central Corridor Task Force developed recommended amendments to existing downtown and Capitol Area plans to take best advantage of the opportunities this major public investment offers.

The Central Corridor Planning Task forces were representative of area residents and businesses in the Corridor. They were committed to engaging the community in an inclusive process. The Central Corridor Development Strategy (CCDS) addresses the related land use, economic and social development impacts that may result from the investment in LRT. The CCDS will frame dozens of individual decisions that will be made in the Corridor over the next decade. Furthermore, it will guide public and private decisions.
