An afternoon shooting inside of an automotive repair shop on Arcade Street left a man dead Tuesday, March 30.

A 911 caller reported the shooting at 3:37 p.m., and officers responded to the 1300 block of Arcade Street. That’s where they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers attempted to render aid and cleared the building to make sure it was safe for St. Paul Fire medics, who responded.

Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead without being transported to a hospital.

Now, investigators with the police department’s homicide unit are working to locate possible witnesses and determine who pulled the trigger. Members of the Forensics Services Unit will process the area for evidence, and the Video Management Unit will look for any surveillance video that exists.

As of Tuesday evening, no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information or who was in the are of Arcade Street and Clear Avenue East when the shooting occurred is asked to call 651-266-5650.

The victim’s identity, along with any updates in the case, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.

This is the ninth homicide this year in Saint Paul.
