Members of the Saint Paul Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating after a person was found dead inside a vehicle on the city’s Riverview neighborhood early Wednesday, June 3.

Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunshots just before 3 a.m. near the intersection of Hall Avenue and Stevens Street West. Patrol officers rushed to the scene and found the female victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Saint Paul Fire medics were summoned, and they pronounced her dead at the scene.

Patrol officers immediately secured the scene and called homicide investigators, who began looking for possible witnesses. The department’s Forensic Services Unit also responded and will be combing the area for any evidence that can help determine what the victim was doing in the area and who is responsible for her death.

No arrests have been made, and anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to positively identify the victim and determine her exact cause of death. That information, along with any updates in the cases, will be released on the police department’s Twitter page, @sppdmn.

This is the 15th homicide in Saint Paul this year.
