Saint Paul police are investigating after an assault at a downtown bar Saturday night left a man dead.

Several 911 callers reported an assault with a person down at about 11:35 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at a bar and restaurant on the 300 block of Washington Street. Officers and St. Paul Fire medics responded and found a 48-year-old man suffering from an apparent head injury lying on the pavement.
