Governor Tim Walz signed a state proclamation on May 3rd, recognizing the critical roles our system of code enforcement and the construction industry play in maintaining the safety and structural integrity of our buildings and infrastructure that serve residents throughout the state.

The Governor’s proclamation acts as a powerful reminder that up-to-date code, professionally administered, is the foundation that allows us to feel safe in the structures in which we live, work, and play every day.

“No Code. No Confidence.”-- the 2019 theme of Building Safety Month -- is observed each May throughout the United States and beyond. The occasion provides a valuable opportunity to raise public awareness that the combined efforts of engineers, planners, tradespeople, contractors, and our code and fire safety inspectors work not only to improve the value of our homes and buildings but protect lives and property.
