Waste Management, Highland SanitationAdvanced Disposal and Pete's Rubbish Hauling issue a Winter Weather Collection Delay due to extreme cold temperatures

UPDATE (January 30, 2019 at 8 p.m.) -- Pete's Rubbish Hauling has issued a Winter Weather Collection Delay for Thursday, January 31, 2019.

SAINT PAUL (January 30, 2019) – Due to today’s extreme cold temperatures, the City of Saint Paul Department of Public Works has announced that a few members of the city’s garbage hauling consortium, St. Paul Haulers, are experiencing service collection issues. Waste Management, Highland Sanitation, and Advanced Disposal have issued a Winter Weather Collection Delay for the remainder of the week.

The Collection Delay affects Waste Management and Highland Sanitation residential customers with Wednesday through Friday collection days this week. Property owners with these haulers need to put their garbage cart out one day later than their regular collection day for the remainder of this week. For example, if residents’ regular collection day is Wednesday, then their garbage collection will occur on Thursday this week.

Residents with garbage collection from Advanced Disposal on Wednesday and Thursday will have their garbage collected on their regular day next week. Advanced Disposal customers affected by this service delay can have extra bags collected next week at no additional charge.  Customers with Advanced Disposal pick up on Friday should follow their regular schedule this week.

The other five garbage companies will be picking up on their regularly scheduled days, but please allow extra time for garbage haulers to safely complete their scheduled routes.

A reminder that the city’s recycling hauler, Eureka Recycling has also issued a Winter Weather Collection Delay for the remainder of the week. Recycling collections are delayed one day

To check your garbage collection schedule, or receive alerts about your garbage, please contact your garbage hauler, or visit stpaul.gov/garbage for additional updates.
