Saint Paul Housing Director Kayla Schuchman Selected as 40 Under 40 Honoree by Minneapolis/St.Paul Business Journal
St. Paul, Minn. – The City of Saint Paul announced today Kayla Schuchman has been selected as one of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's 40 Under 40 honorees for 2021.
“Amid this enduring public health and economic crisis, our ongoing response to the housing crisis is critical,” said Mayor Melvin Carter. “Kayla’s incredible service in our community continues to ensure everyone can access stable, accessible, fair, and equitable housing.”
"Director Schuchman is creative, bold, and also realistic - it’s those unique qualities that make her a great forward-thinking leader,” said Housing and Redevelopment Chair Chris Tolbert. “Through her leadership we have used both new and old tools to expand housing options - especially affordable housing options - across the city of Saint Paul.”
With close to 600 nominations for the 28th annual 40 Under 40 awards, the selection process was difficult. Individuals receive this award because of their outstanding professional achievements, leadership qualities and contributions to the broader Twin Cities community.
